Lebanese Prime Minister Republishes Statement After Hack on X Platform

Lebanese Prime Minister Najwa Salam announced that he will republish what he wrote yesterday on the X platform after discovering that someone had accessed his account and deleted the original post. The declaration came amid escalating tensions in Lebanon due to ongoing military operations along the southern border.

Details of the New Statement

In a fresh post on X, Salam wrote that he will repost his previous message after learning that an unauthorized party entered his account and removed the text. He added that Israel's actions in southern villages such as Mansouri, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Kfartabnit and other towns involve assaults, incursions, systematic land‑grabbing, and demolition of homes, residential neighborhoods, infrastructure, government buildings and places of worship.

Salam stressed that these acts constitute a serious breach of international law and humanitarian law, arguing that any attempt to justify the land‑grabbing and demolition by claiming the presence of military installations does not reflect the on‑ground reality.

Conflict Context and Impact on Civilians

The official explained that labeling entire villages—including homes, neighborhoods, government offices, public facilities and mosques—as “military installations” is untenable. According to Salam, this narrative is used to justify destruction, displacement and to prevent residents from returning.

He emphasized that Lebanon’s sovereignty, the security of its people, and the right of southern residents to return and rebuild their villages are non‑negotiable issues, urging respect for international law and an end to hostilities.
