The flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro is MediaTek's first 2‑nanometer chip, featuring a dedicated Neural Processing Unit for generative AI. The company claims a 51 % speed gain in handling user prompts compared to the previous generation.
The Dimensity 9600 M, fabricated at 3 nm, targets a broader range of high‑end smartphones while maintaining energy efficiency.
Market context
MediaTek expects the first devices powered by these chips to appear soon, with key partners such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo confirming adoption. The firm is also expanding into AI accelerators for data centers, planning the first US‑based cloud AI chip to enter mass production by the end of 2026.
