The United States, together with American commercial firms, has significantly increased the flow of satellite imagery to Kyiv over the past year, bolstering Ukraine's battlefield surveillance capabilities.

US Support Details

Vantage, a commercial partner of Ukraine for several years, announced the launch of six new satellites, raising its orbital fleet to ten. The constellation can cover up to 7 million square kilometres daily, enough to monitor the entire Ukrainian combat zone multiple times each day.

This capacity allows the satellites to capture images of the same area up to 15 times per day, giving Ukrainian forces near‑real‑time insight into ground movements and situational changes.

Intelligence‑Sharing Tensions

The move comes amid persistent Russian warnings. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia repeatedly protests the transfer of U.S. intelligence to Kyiv, noting the data are used to pinpoint targets inside Russian territory.

Russia's low‑Earth‑orbit constellation “Rasvyt,” seen as a counterpart to Elon Musk’s Starlink, remains a major concern for Ukraine, adding a space‑based dimension to the conflict.

With this heightened support, Ukraine is narrowing its information gap and leveraging cutting‑edge technology on the battlefield.
