The UAE Minister of Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, emphasized the importance of economic cooperation between BRICS countries. He explained that the UAE's participation in the BRICS trade ministers' meeting reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to expanding economic and trade cooperation.

Economic Cooperation

The bilateral discussions between Al Zeyoudi and ministers and officials from BRICS countries focused on enhancing trade and investment, as well as expanding cooperation in priority sectors. He also discussed the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and India with the Indian Minister of Trade and Industry.

The UAE's non-oil foreign trade with BRICS countries recorded significant growth in 2025, exceeding $312 billion. The BRICS countries accounted for approximately 31% of the UAE's total non-oil foreign trade.

BRICS is a vital platform for supporting international economic cooperation and promoting an open and stable trade environment. Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of promoting development for expanded cooperation between BRICS countries.
