Hamas affirmed its commitment to former US President Donald Trump’s plan to end Palestinian suffering and to launch a reconstruction program. The Hamas team included negotiators headed by Zaher Jabbareen, marking al‑Hayyah’s first visit to Egypt since assuming leadership in late July.
The talks occur after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a 15‑point proposal presented by the High Representative of the Peace Council Nikolai Maladinov, while Hamas expressed willingness to hand over its weapons to a new Palestinian committee in exchange for a phased Israeli withdrawal from large parts of Gaza.
