Russian Military Launches Night Attacks on Ukrainian Ports to Disrupt Fuel and Arms Supplies
The Russian Ministry of Defence announced the continuation of air strikes against Ukrainian military sites and vital infrastructure, targeting river and sea ports that receive fuel and ammunition from NATO countries.
Operation Details
The ministry said the attacks hit a large fuel depot in the port of Yuhny and two military equipment warehouses in the Odesa port, as well as the Ismail port on the Danube River where NATO-supplied supplies are off‑loaded and stored.
The spokesperson also reported the downing of 598 Ukrainian drones over areas including Bilhorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Lepetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Oriol, Bskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, Moscow, Krasnodar region, Crimea, and maritime zones in Azov and the Black Sea.
Conflict Background
The strikes are part of a Russian escalation aimed at weakening Ukraine’s logistical capacity, following reports that Kyiv deployed camouflaged explosives hidden in phones, cigarette packs and water bottles in Donetsk.
The operation underscores the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine war and Moscow’s effort to undermine Western support for Kyiv by targeting critical supply routes.
