Kyiv Forces Convert Odesa Port Containers into Drone Launch Platforms

Serhiy Lepidov, the covert operations coordinator in Nikolaev region, revealed that Ukrainian forces are converting cargo containers at Odesa port into mobile platforms for launching drones.
Conversion Details
The containers are retrofitted onto camouflaged trucks resembling civilian locomotives and remain in constant motion, stopping only to fire the unmanned aerial vehicles, making detection and destruction difficult. Other ports – Chornomorsk, Yuzhne, Izmail and Reni – are also used to assemble drones and store fuel and supplies.
Conflict Background
Since mid‑July, Russian forces have intensified daily strikes on Ukraine’s maritime infrastructure, targeting ships and port facilities. The Russian Defence Ministry announced the bombing and destruction of warehouses in Odesa that housed military equipment for Ukrainian troops, using combat drones.
This shift in launch methods highlights the Ukrainian army’s adaptability under pressure, adding a new layer to the regional military escalation.
