Kireliv city in Volgograd region opened a free historical exhibition on August 15 to mark its 250th anniversary, showcasing a rare collection of 15th‑century artifacts.

Exhibition Details

Hosted in the Kirelo‑Belozersky Museum complex under the title "The Story of Kireliv City," the show features the city's earliest noble emblem, a copy of Empress Catherine II's decree granting city status in 1776, old urban development plans, historic documents and photographs.

Key Items

Highlights include liturgical objects from the early 1400s that belonged to Saint Cyril of Belozersk, founder of the Kirelo‑Belozersky Monastery in 1397, as well as a copy of his spiritual charter and an icon depicting him praying before the monastery.

Admission is free, reflecting local authorities' aim to boost historical awareness and cultural tourism.
