Apple's Dominance in Premium Segment
The iPhone 17 captured a 6% market share, a substantial jump from the previous model's 4% during the same period last year. This success is partly attributed to the adoption of an OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, which attracted user interest. Apple also placed five models in the top ten best-selling phones, including the Pro, Pro Max, and the budget-friendly version.
Conversely, Samsung secured two prominent spots, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra ranking fourth, directly behind the iPhone 17 Pro. The standard Galaxy S26 took ninth place, reflecting the Korean brand's stability in the high-end smartphone sector.
Samsung's Mid-Range Strategy
In the mid-range price bracket, the Galaxy A series maintained its momentum, with the Galaxy A07 4G leading sales between April and June. Despite using a modest LCD screen and an older processor, Samsung distinguished the phone by providing six major Android updates, a unique support feature in this price tier.
This performance highlights the divergence in corporate strategies, where Apple relies on a limited number of models to achieve high profits, while Samsung plays on multiple price strings. Xiaomi's absence from the list clarifies the shift in the global smartphone market dynamics.
