JerryRigEverything's YouTube channel demonstrated that the Honor Robot Phone, launched in China last August, withstood a series of durability tests including bend resistance and full teardown.

Technical Test Results

The front glass endured scratches up to level six on the Mohs scale, while deeper grooves appeared from level seven, aligning with modern smartphone screens. The bend test showed the phone could tolerate strong pressure without visible deformation.

Camera and Build Observations

The flagship pivot camera, a standout feature, heated noticeably during use, becoming warm to the touch. When exposed to heavy dust and sand, the camera failed to return to its original position, revealing insufficient sealing of the robotic arm.

Design Background

The device incorporates a steam cooling chamber directly behind the display, allowing the chassis to dissipate heat efficiently. It also houses a 200‑megapixel periscope camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), and extracting the robotic arm requires considerable effort due to its intricate integration.

Despite these issues, the pivot‑camera system remains one of Honor's most notable engineering achievements in this model.
