Ebola Near 5,000 Cases in Congo After Worst Wave Since 2018

The Public Health Institute reported that the 17th wave of the outbreak peaked in late July, becoming the largest ever in terms of infections. At the start of the week, deaths rose to 2,378, exceeding the toll recorded during the worst outbreak between 2018 and 2020.
