Syrian singer Asala Nasri made a spectacular return to the Damascus stage after nearly fifteen years, captivating the audience not only with her voice but also with haute couture creations by Lebanese and Syrian designers.

Fashion blends modernity and heritage

She opened the concert wearing a beige tulle dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jibran, embellished with golden embroidery and draped, floor‑length panels reminiscent of wedding gowns. The look was completed with a high bun adorned with golden earrings matching the dress.

Later, Syrian designer Mithnawi Haj Ali presented her a white gown inspired by the iconic Damascus sword; a sculptural element wraps around the bust, studded with crystals and gold stones. Traditional touches include a stylized abaya detail and hand‑stitched embroidery crafted in Damascus specifically for the event, highlighting the city’s cultural motifs.

Design background

Haj Ali told the press the concept aimed to fuse classic elements with contemporary flair, focusing on Damascus symbols such as the sword and abaya to ensure the look remains timeless.

Asala completed the ensemble with a high‑volume horse‑tail hairstyle and makeup featuring deep nude eye shadows, winged liner, and a glossy pink‑red lip, echoing this season’s makeup trends.
